THE CAUSE

We call on brewers to join the cause and support the humanitarian effort in Ukraine.

Whether it’s brewing Resolve and donating proceeds to our designated not-for-profit partner, or simply hosting a charity night in the taproom to drive awareness for the effort, everything helps.   As always, breweries come together to do good.  And, now more than ever, our friends in Ukraine need us to band together.

We have found and vetted two non-profits that are supporting the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine through direct aid:

The Global Empowerment Mission (GEM)

GEM is providing emergency aid inside Ukraine to the fighters and families that have stayed behind, as well as humanitarian aid to the women and children that are trying to cross the border into Poland.

For more information on GEM and how to donate, please see

World Central Kitchen (WCK)

Since the invasion of Ukraine, WCK’s Relief Team has been on the ground supporting families sheltering in the country as well as refugees arriving in Poland, Romania, Moldova, Hungary, and most recently, in Spain. Cooking out of our own Relief Kitchen in Przemysl, Poland and mobilizing a vast network of chefs and volunteers across all six countries, WCK is providing nearly 200,000 hot, nourishing meals every day. We’re also making daily food product deliveries into Ukraine and throughout the country for WCK restaurant partners cooking.

Why RESOLVE?

The craft beer industry is a close knit community and, in many ways, a family.   We share laughs, we share tears, and do all we can to lift each other up.

For 42 North Brewing Company, the horrific events in Ukraine hit even closer to home as a member of our family, our former brewer Naz Drebot, remains in Ukraine with the resolve of millions of his countrymen.  Since helping launch 42 North, Naz has made many lifelong friends in the beer community, has collaborated with breweries around the world, and, most recently Co-Founded his own brewery in Kyiv, 2085(™) Brewery.

While Naz is the inspiration for this collaborative effort, we hope that our small contributions to the resistance effort can help many of the proud and determined Ukrainians.  His family is our family.

Stay strong and stay resolute.

THE BEER

Grab a recipe, download the label and let us know you are brewing Resolve Kellerbier to be added to the website.

Feel free to use these recipes or put your own twist on the beer depending on which ingredients you can provide. We’ve included a traditional Kellerbier and Western spin on a Kellerbier with Western hops.  Or make your own Resolve Freedom beer!  Make sure to update the Resolve can label information according to your recipe.

The yeast and hops used are up to the hosting brewery. The hops in recipe are just a suggestion, feel free to make this your own, or put your own spin on the project.  For yeast we recommend using either a lager strain or a clean fermenting ale strain like a kolsch yeast or similar. Happy Brewing!
